Instagram Guest Posting for Streit House Space

April 26, 2016 Carrie Crow

I'm guest posting for the wonderful Streit House Space this week on Instagram. Follow along here: https://www.instagram.com/streithousespace

Hi everyone! This is @carriecrowphoto posting an experiment for you this week. I’ve been working on my series, ‘Observatorio’ for a couple years, which uses observation deck telescopes as a life-sized filter of sorts. With most of the telescopes left outside to weather the elements, the photos that result are marked by the dirt, water stains, scratches, light leaks, focus issues etc. of the machines. This week, I thought I would take the photos themselves outside for a week and see how nature treats them.‪ I'll report back at the end of my week as to how the prints fared.

"Where are all the great grandmothers of photography and why aren’t they being exhibited alongside their male counterparts?"

Part One of my three-part series on women in photography is up now on Arteidolia. I'll be looking at too-often forgotten women in photography whose work absolutely blows my mind.

December 2, 2014 Carrie Crow

The Baron and I are featured in this fabulous new book by Rob Mintz and Dalibor Polivka who curated a show we were in at the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art.  Haven’t seen the book yet, but these guys are brilliant and put together a very interesting show.  We’ll be picking up a copy at our local bookstore, Astoria Bookshop.  Shop local!
