I'm a few days into my 3-week residency with StreitLab, a new venture from the wonderful gallery Streit House Space.
My project is part alchemical adventure / part public art installation and at the end of it, Streit House Space will publish my very first zine. I'm excited!

I have been following the online photography gallery Streit House Space with great interest for awhile and was delighted to be selected for their recent exhibit, 'This is It.' The gallery is run by Jordanna Kalman, a photographer and curator under the simple premise: "photographers submit their work via email which is then printed, displayed on a wall, documented and finally posted online."
Why is this interesting to me? Well, firstly, I think Jordanna's personal work is brilliant and I love her gallery's aesthetic and philosophy. As a photographer who obsesses over every detail, from inception to print production, it's a refreshing experience to let that image go entirely. Streit House exhibitions are essentially a photograph of a selection of photographs, printed on whatever paper and printer the curator deemed fit and I just love how each of those individual images cohere in a new, dreamlike narrative borne out of Jordanna's imagination. It's kind of like being in someone else's dream and that is a wonderful feeling.
The Baron and I are featured in this fabulous new book by Rob Mintz and Dalibor Polivka who curated a show we were in at the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art. Haven’t seen the book yet, but these guys are brilliant and put together a very interesting show. We’ll be picking up a copy at our local bookstore, Astoria Bookshop. Shop local!
Obsolescence, the group show I’m in at Curious Matter got a lovely little mention in the New York Times. Brilliant work by Mikhail Gubin is featured in the piece. Super excited to have two of my pieces from Observatorio in this exhibition. It's truly one of the most beautifully curated shows I've ever been in.
I will be exhibiting two pieces from my Observatorio seres at Curious Matter in Jersey City. Thrilled to be joining this wonderful gallery.
